Physical Therapy
Our therapists have clinical expertise in treating a wide range of physical problems. From the top of your head to the tips of your toes, from headaches to ankle sprains, we will design a treatment plan that is right for you. If you have questions about any of the services, please call or email us. We would be happy to talk with you about them.
Manual Therapy is a generic term for any hands-on treatment provided by the therapist. Our therapists are trained in many different hands-on therapies including massage, strain-counterstrain, muscle energy technique, joint mobilization, shiatsu, joint manipulation, and myofascial release. These hands-on therapies are complimented by modalities and exercise.
Used for both post-surgical and non-surgical patients, dynamic stabilization exercises target the muscles of your trunk that keep your spine and body stable. They help you stay balanced when you move. If your core muscles are strong and they contract when they should, your posture is better, your body is balanced, your movement is more efficient and powerful and you are less likely to be injured.
An ergonomic study is an analysis of how the worker responds when performing a job in relation to the work environment. Our Certified Professional Ergonomist reviews the impact of injury on the worker’s job performance to:
The Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an extensive evaluation that analyzes the injured worker’s ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, kneeling, ladder climbing, stair climbing, overhead reaching, crawling, and perform static and repeat bending activities. Detailed results are provided in easy to read format to the physician and case manager. The FCE is used by the physician in order to determine if an injured worker is ready to return to work and with what restrictions, if any.
For patients who have been injured on the job, manual techniques, exercise and modalities are implemented to assist return to full work-related activities. Our therapists will assess your work duties and provide exercises that simulate the requirements of your workplace.
Evaluation and treatment of both post-surgical and non-surgical orthopedic injuries using modalities, exercise and hands-on techniques to restore movement and function to the bones, joints, ligaments and muscles.
Sport-specific exercises and functional training are all a part of the athlete’s plan of care. Our therapists’ goal is to facilitate early return to sports participation. We work closely with the school athletic trainer, when needed, to discuss goals and provide consistent care. Athletes return to the game with knowledge of their injury as well as a plan for future injury prevention.

This post-injury assessment is performed at the work-site during the acute or sub-acute phase of recovery to evaluate the worker’s compatibility with job demands and need for transitional work or therapy activities to expedite return to FULL DUTY. Exam components include:
A WIA helps prevent unnecessary lost-time or restricted duty days. Referral should be considered when the physician will not release the worker to modified duty, the worker reports difficulty with assigned transitional work duties, or the worker has not progressed back to FULL duty within a reasonable time period.
This individualized therapy program is focused on regaining optimal function and return to work through an active program that includes physical conditioning and job simulation tasks. This service is justified when there is a vocational goal (job title), but the injured worker does not have the option to perform transitional work duties in a specific job.
